I did not WANT a bulky cable, or two cables just one (for travel). 20ft with Cat6 driving my 1280x800 projector, no problem. But, make sure you test them ASAP when you get them.ģ Works. Unfortunately, I didn't get them installed in time to check them and now I can't return them.If you get a working set, they are fine. I have swapped them out, so I know its a bad connector. One set works perfectly, but the other set has interference and causes my screen to flicker. Unfortunately I ordered two sets of connectors to run two 24" LCD displays. It requires 2 cat5 cables, it is powered but it works fine without the power source.I thought of selling it on ebay, but discarded the idea because I built my perfect seller rating by offering good deals - not bad ones.ġ so I know its a bad connector.

NOTE: all those cables "work" with no problem on the computer for internet and LAN connection. So button line if you want 1920x1080 at 30 m (100 ft.) with no headaches you WILL need a High Quality Branded SOLID CAT 6a Cable.ĥ There are better (working!) options for not much more money Did not work at all when I tried to connect a DVD player to my TV, even with one 3ft cat5 cable between the TV and the player. It "sort of" worked with a MacBook that probably had a stronger signal than the DVD player."Sort of" because the picture was ok as still, but very choppy when I tried to watch a movie. At the end, I got the "Sabrent HDMI Extension cable over Cat5/6 RJ45 Extender adapter" which works great. I tried with on old high quality UTP CAT5 3 meter cable a would get 1920x1080 with no problem, tried a 20 meter generic Chinese CAT 5e cable would only get 800圆00 with funny colors and image loss, tried a 20 meter generic Chinese SOLID CAT 6 will only work up to 1440x900, tried with a Branded high quality 20 meter SOLID CAT 6a Cable and 1920x1080 again with no problem.

But there a few things you have to have in mind.- As someone mentioned here, it has to be ONE an only ONE SOLID UTP cable CAT 5, CAT 5e, CAT 6 or CAT 6a cable, so no patch cords or wall sockets for this one.- You have to get high quality cable, no Chinese cheap UTP for this one. I don't know if they could run any longer than that but for what I'm doing I just could not be happier!ĥ Great Passive Extender Just plug ONE UTP cable at both ends and you can go up to 1920 x 1080.

I used high-quality solid-core 20' Cat6 cables for both runs and am running both a 1600x12x1200 display without a single problem. But I just wasn't able to get my two DVI signals to travel on cables longer than 16'. I had absolutely no problem using 20' USB cables (well, actually just one that runs to a powered hub at my desk). Until then, within their limitations, I recommend these connectors without reservations.ĥ Worked Perfectly!! I have built a system that requires my monitors / keyboard / mouse to be about 20' away from my computer rack.
SAICOO CARD READER WONT WORK WITH MAX UPDATE
I will update if there are any durability issues. My challenge was resolved effectively and at reasonable cost. This would indicate that my present configuration is working but is nearing the limit of what these Iogear DVI-D extenders can handle (which would explain the fuzz).Overall, I'm quite happy with the Iogear mini-extenders. The additional cable and connector were apparently introducing a little too much extra resistance. However, when I tried running an extra 30ft Cat6 and an additional ethernet connector in the mix (to make the connection through my ethernet switch in another room), the connection was inoperable. Cat6 ethernet cable in wall (Monoprice)1-keystone jack wall plate connector (at monitor end)1-18in Cat6 ethernet patch cable to monitorThis configuration works fine with just a hint of occasional video "fuzz" (nothing too troubling for my purposes). In my case, these adapters are presently working with:1-3ft Cat6 ethernet patch cable to wall plate1-keystone jack wall plate connector (Cat6)1-30ft. The in-wall cable I use is a Cat6 (Monoprice) that covers a total distance of more then 30 feet to the monitor at the other end. The video card on the HTPC feeds an HDMI out to my A-V receiver and it also feeds this DVI-D adapter which connects the video signal to the wall outlet through a short ethernet cable.
SAICOO CARD READER WONT WORK WITH MAX INSTALL
I used this product to install a computer monitor on a desk 20 feet away from my HTPC - which sits in my entertainment unit at the other end of the room.
